Replacing tires in 5 steps.

Inspect your tires and consider replacement of your tires if the tread depth is 4/32nds of an inch or less, if there is irregular tread wear or if the tire is damaged.

Determine how many tires to replace from the tire inspection. Replacing all four tires is optimal, but when only replacing 2 tires, install them on the rear axle of the vehicle to help prevent hydroplaning.

From all season tires to performance tires, SimpleTire offers a wide range of 15” tires meant to complement any driving style or road condition.

While 15” tires were the industry standard for most cars and even half-ton pickups for many, many years, they’re just about gone from the scene for newer vehicles. 15s have been eclipsed by taller sizes for various engineering-related reasons, but the good news is that there are plenty of options for 15” tires for older rides and they usually tend to be on the less expensive side.

The 235/75R15 is a common size for older light trucks and SUVs such as the Dodge Dakota, '90s-era Ford F150, Honda Passport, Ford E150 Econoline and Toyota T100 and Hilux trucks. Some excellent light truck tires in this size include the Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT, Michelin LTX M/S, Toyo Open Country A/T III, Yokohama Geolandar AT G015, Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus, or Kumho Road Venture AT51.

Another pretty common size for 15” tires is the 205/65R15; it could be found on older vehicles such as the Ford Taurus, Hyundai Sonata, 1st-generation Dodge Grand Caravan and Toyota Camry as well as vintage rides like the Ford Thunderbird or Pontiac Firebird. Some excellent choices in premium all season tires in 205/65R15 would include the Falken Sincera SN250 A/S, Yokohama Avid Touring-S, Kumho Solus TA31, Toyo Versado Noir and Dunlop SP Sport Signature.

The P215/70R15 was a popular tire for '80s and '90s-era sedans such as the Cadillac DeVille, Buick LeSabre, Jaguar XJS, Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marquis and Ford Thunderbird. For cars in this family, where a quiet, smooth-riding tire is a good fit, check out all season tires like the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus, Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter, Yokohama Avid Ascend LX, Hankook Kinergy ST (H735) or Pirelli P4 Four Seasons Plus.
