Introduced in 1989, the Eclipse coupe was originally also branded as the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser. It went through five generations before being discontinued in 2012, with later models available with a 263 horsepower 3.8L V6. The Eclipse was also available as a convertible, and trim levels included GS, GS Sport, SE and GT.
